Advanced striking and competition preparation for those who want to compete at the highest level.
K1 is a striking-based combat sport that allows punches, kicks, and knee strikes. It is one of the most exciting and technically demanding martial arts disciplines in the world, demanding not just physical toughness, but tactical intelligence, timing, and exceptional conditioning.
At Strabane Martial Arts Academy, our K1 programme is designed for people who are serious about competing. Whether you've just completed our kickboxing programme and are ready for the next level, or you're an experienced competitor looking for a high-quality training environment, our K1 classes will push you further than you've ever been pushed.
Our coaches have personal experience competing in K1 at regional and national level. They bring that first-hand knowledge to every session — not just teaching techniques, but teaching you how to think, move, and train like a competitor.
Our Competition classes are open to students who have a solid foundation from our Basics and Advanced classes — or equivalent experience from previous training elsewhere. You don't need to have competed before, but you should be comfortable with the fundamentals and ready to train with intensity and purpose.
If you're unsure whether you're ready for Competition, come in for a free trial class and one of our coaches will give you an honest assessment.
Competition is not for everyone — but for those who pursue it, the rewards go far beyond winning and losing.
Competition reveals things about yourself that training alone never can. It's the ultimate test of your technique, conditioning, and mental strength.
Athletes who compete improve faster. Having a competition date creates focus and urgency in training that drives rapid development across every area.
Preparing for and competing in K1 builds a level of mental toughness that carries into every other area of life — work, relationships, and beyond.
The bond forged through hard training and competing together is unlike anything else. The martial arts community is one of the most respectful in all of sport.
